The Local Government Unit of Agoo, La Union, through the leadership of Mayor Stefanie Ann Y. Eriguel represented by Vice-Mayor Henry B. Balbin entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) through SINSP. Noel M. Chan on January 26, 2022 for the one-time assessment and payment of business related fees.
The MOA is aimed to incorporate the ordinary Fire Safety Inspection Fee for Business Permits Application in the Electronic Business Permits and Licensing System (E-BPLS) of the Local Government Unit. This allows the taxpayers to pay the said fee during their application of business permits. This project made the processing of business permits faster and easier and it also aims to contain the spread of COVID-19 Virus.
On the otherhand, BFP will still continue to ensure public safety and has the access to the LGU’s E-BPLS to generate “red flag” for non-compliant business establishments and may also view the registered business establishments in the locality to ensure transparency and for inspection purposes.
“In view of our common objective to deliver efficient public service to our taxpayers, We are so grateful for the commitment and support of the BFP through SINSP. Noel M. Chan to this project that will benefit our taxpayers especially with this time of Pandemic that we need to be more careful and to lessen direct contacts during the application of business permits,” Ms. Elena M. Oribello, Municipal Treasurer of LGU-Agoo, La Union said.
The signing of MOA was also graced by Municipal Engineer Ariel Fangonilo, Municipal Treasurer Elena M. Oribello, SF03 Dante D. Petina and Miss Jacqueline Aguilar.
