The Local Government Unit of Agoo, La Union spearheaded by Hon. Mayor Stefanie Ann Y. Eriguel-Calongcagon, M.D. once again adjudged as the Overall Most Competitive in Region 1 for 6 years now and a consistent “HAKOT AWARDEE” bagging places in all pillars of the CMCI: 1st places on Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency and Resiliency and 2nd place on Infrastructure and top 50 nationwide amongst 1st-2nd class municipalities in all pillars and overall ranking.
The Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index is an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities developed by the National Competitiveness Council through the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs) with the assistance of the United States Agency for International Development and awarded by the Department of Trade and Industry. Cities and municipalities are ranked on their competitiveness based on an overall competitiveness score. The overall competitiveness score is the sum of scores on four main pillars: economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure and resiliency.
